Good news for coaches! PositivePsychology.com is approved by the International Coaching Federation to offer continuing education for coaches and award CCE Units for its programs.

Students who complete our Continuing Coach Education (CCE) program will be able to use these units toward the renewal requirements of an International Coaching Federation (ICF) credential.

Gain 40 CCE Units with Life Navigation©

Through the Life Navigation© Program—our nine-masterclass series complete positive psychology curriculum—you can earn 40 CCE Units. These can be used as part of an ICF credential.

Alternatively, you can gain CCE Units for completing any individual masterclass that is part of the Life Navigation© series.

How to obtain your CCE Units.

In order to receive a certificate confirming course completion with the number of CCE Units awarded, you will need to complete every lesson and take a multiple-choice comprehension test.

What is the definition of Continuing Coach Education?

CCE is considered supplemental and continuing education for those wishing to acquire new learning, professional development and/or those who are renewing their ICF Credential.

Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units are earned upon completing Continuing Coach Education. CCE units are awarded in two categories:

Core Competencies: Supplemental and continuing coach education that directly relates to or expands upon the ICF Core Competencies
Resource Development: Education in skills that contribute to a coach’s professional development (e.g., personal development, coaching tools or assessments, business building, or other material that falls outside the ICF Core Competencies)

Who are the ICF?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization for coaches and coaching. ICF is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals.

How many CCE Units do coaches need from the ICF per renewal cycle?

A renewal cycle with the ICF is 3 years. An ICF member needs 40 CCE Units per renewal cycle.

Of the 40 CCE Units needed for renewal, 24 must be Core Competency, and 3 of 24 Core Competency must be in Ethics.

Please note that the ICF offers a free 3-hour ethics course which many use (3 CCEs). So, after that, a coach needs 21 Core Competency CCEs and the other 16 CCEs can be Core or Resource.

Therefore, the Life Navigation program with its 22 Core Competencies can be combined with the free 3-hour Ethics course to meet the full requirements for one, three-year ICF renewal cycle.
