A Personal Message From Heather
In terms of academic writing, research from my Honours thesis was published in ‘Australian Family Physician‘.
This year I have collaborated with various researchers to contribute to several publications currently under review…
Publication 1: Craig, H. & Allen, K. A. Mental Illness and Young People: A case for inclusion. In K. A. Allen & C. Boyle (Eds.), Inclusive Education: Perspectives, Practices and Challenges. New York, NY: Nova Science;
Publication 2: Allen, K. A. Slaten, C., Arslan, G., Roffey, S., Vella-Brodrick, D., Craig, H. TBA. School Belonging and Student-Teacher Relationships. In Kern, P. & Streger, M. (2020). The Handbook of Positive Education. Basingstoke, United Kingdom: Palgrave & Macmillan.
My current research project is investigating the relationship between optimism and health outcomes in older Australian adults.
I am passionate about positive psychology, particularly optimism and resilience. I believe that no matter our situation and the adversity we face, there is always room for hope.
